Linda Gray

Prayer Coordinator / Small Group Ministry, Kharkov, Ukraine

I was “adopted” into the Baring Cross family in early 1994 when I was given the privilege of working as part-time single adult minister. While I served in that capacity for only about 18 months before being called to international missions, I have always considered Baring Cross to be my home church.

Following His call, I moved to Texas to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating in 1998. I was appointed to IMB in November of 2008 and my dog Shadow and I arrived in Kiev, Ukraine in March, 1999. After full-time language study I moved to Odessa, Ukraine in the summer of 2000 to begin work in ministry to women. In the fall of 2003, the Lord called me to Kharkov to work in church planting alongside our IMB team and evangelical Ukrainian believers. For the past 6 years I have worked as our team’s prayer coordinator, as well as leading recovery groups, women’s Bible studies, and ESL groups.

My Desire: The desire of my heart is to be an instrument the Lord uses to see Ukrainian women and men set free from chemical and emotional dependencies to serve the Lord. With prayer as a foundation, we hope to work through support/recovery groups, one-on-one discipleship, and small group Bible studies to see those once in bondage experience freedom in and through Christ, to be a vital part of a church planting movement in the Kharkov oblast (state).

Cliff and Cinthy Case

Church Planter, Santiago, Chile

Cliff Case was a member of Baring Cross from about 4th grade on until he went to Ouachita. In 11th grade when he surrendered to the ministry, Baring Cross confirmed his call by licensing him to the ministry. (He still has the certificate in his keepsakes.)  Cliff and Cinthy were also married in Baring Cross’ sanctuary on May 26th, 1984.  Baring Cross was one of the most influential forces in Cliff's life. Especially in the understanding of his call to missions.  Through an excellent Mission’s program (RA’s, GA’s & youth and church mission’s trips) God formed his call to missions. He cannot name all the members who influenced him, but there are literally hundreds. He is eternally grateful.

They were appointed 18+ years ago to serve in Rocha, Uruguay. They spent 14 years there planting churches in the department (state) of Rocha. After 14 years Cinthy was asked to consider taking a job in Santiago in the financial office for the South American Region. She did so. Cinthy works 4 to 5 days a week in the America’s Finance center dealing with administrative/finance issues within several countries.
Almost 4 years ago we moved to Santiago. I (Cliff) was asked to not only continue using sports to plant churches, but to also work as the volunteer coordinator for the Central Chile Team. That area encompasses not only Santiago, but north (about an hour) to the Los Andes area, and west over to Viña/Valpo area. I work with logistics and coordination of all the volunteers that work in our area.  Clayton (19) was a junior in high school using an on-line curriculum when we moved to Santiago. He finished that two years ago and enrolled in Ouachita Baptist University. He is studying kinesiology and plays soccer for the varsity team.  Caleb (23) is our oldest son. He returned from Uruguay to study at Ouachita Baptist University, and received a BA in Studio Art & Mass Communications. He has been working in Houston, TX in several part-time positions, and is now has been hired as the Media director for the North Campus of Second Baptist Church of Houston.
We are in the US on STAS (stateside assignment) in Arkadelphia, AR until February 8th when we return to Santiago to continue the work there.

Prayer Requests:
**That we will stay “on target” doing what God has called us to do.
**For our sons, here in the US as they study & work. That they would always seek God’s will in their lives.
**For David P, Chilean Bapt. friend - who is making life decisions that he needs wisdom as he makes those decisions.
**For a new church plant called “Alpha” in the Ñuñoa area of Santiago. Pray that those who don’t know Christ will find Him. And those who have made decisions will remain firm.

Missionaries

Matt is the son of Glen and SuElla, who are members of Baring Cross.   The following is an excerpt from Matt's letter:
"We have arrived safely to the Middle East and have already had a few opportunities to share the Good News with the people here.  Please pray for us and our work here in the Middle East.  We have begun Arabic language classes and will study Arabic for 4 hours each day with a teacher, 5 days a week.  In addition, we will study on our own and visit nationals to learn more language and culture."  Please pray that we will have many opportunities to share the Good

Baring Cross Participates In Three Year Pulaski Baptist/Honduras Partnership

In the summers of 2008, 2009 and 2010, Baring Cross had participants on each Honduras Partnership Team.  The three teams ministered to an average of 875 students per summer in public schools in the La Esperanza area of Honduras. The teams worked under the direction of Herb and Joan Prince, Honduras Missionaries from North Little Rock.  The teams had remarkable liberty to share the gospel in these village schools.

Baring Cross Team Members to Invest in Managua, Nicaragua Summer 2011

Several members of Baring Cross will travel to Managua, Nicaragua this summer to help complete a church building that is currently under construction.  This is part of a team from our North Pulaski Baptist Association.  This team's task is to put the metal roof on the building. Part of the team will also work with the children's ministry of the church.

This team will be under the leadership of Ali and Dana Velasquez, leaders of the local Iglesia Bautista Betel of North Little Rock.  Managua is the home of Ali Velasquez.
